Industrial manslaughter has been gradually introduced to safety legislation across various jurisdictions in recent years in response to high profile incidents such as the Dreamworld tragedy. The introduction of this offence in the legislation raises the bar significantly should an offence occur and a PCBU or an officer is found to be negligent and a death of a worker results. Penalties as a result are much more significant, up to $10M for a corporation and 20 years jail for an individual.

Research and development tax incentives

As we all know and have often stated, the large brewers and beverage companies have access to a vast amount of technical resource and the financial means by which to solicit the best specialist advice to grow their market presence and exert their dominance. HOT WORK: VICTUAL

In 2018, a catastrophic fire occurred at the Thomas Foods facility in Adelaide. It was found that a worker was welding on an offal bin when the fire event occurred. The wall which the worker was conducting the welding contained combustible material. Fortunately, no one was injured due to the emergency protocol in-place to evacuate the facility.
