HOW DO I SET UP AN ONLINE STORE?

  1. Decide what’s the right approach for you.

  • Cold vs ambient delivery.

  • Same day vs standard courier delivery

  • Local vs everywhere

  1. Decide who will deliver. For hyper local you could have staff deliver or click and collect. Reach out to your local courier service to see what can they offer, and what are their limitations. Examples of couriers that already deliver alcohol to residential addresses are Fastway, Auspost and Couriers Please, or a service such as Sendle.

  2. Organise your fulfilment.

  • Will you be fulfilling directly from your brewery and the courier will simply pick up and deliver from there or is managed fulfilment better for your situation where a courier manages the picking packing for you as well.

  1. Know your legal obligations

  • You must include your liquor license on your website

  • How do I make sure I’m not selling beer to minors?

  • Can I send beer interstate?

  • Give people the opportunity for self exclusion if they think alcohol is a problem for them. This is as simple as a note on your website letting people know to email you if they would like to be self excluded.

  1. Know your couriers’ obligations around RSA. All couriers have Alcohol delivery policies. Ask for them and make sure they suit your needs.
