Industry-nominated awards recognise individual excellence in our industry. The IBA welcomes submissions for the following categories from the industry.

IBA SERVICE TO THE INDUSTRY    

The IBA Service to the Industry Award is presented each year to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Australian independent beer industry. The award recipient may have been an early pioneer, spent a lifetime in the industry, or be a more recent contributor, however in each case their efforts align with the IBA’s industry support goals and have reach more broadly than the recipient’s own core role/business.

Those efforts may include:

  • Inspiring and supporting others to advance the industry either in a particular region or nationally.
  • Encouraging a unified approach to issues affecting the industry.
  • Bettering the industry with ideas and knowledge sharing.
  • Driving consumer education and awareness in a manner that enhances the market for Australian independent brewers.

 

IBA YOUNG GUN OF THE YEAR   

Someone who is an employee of an IBA member, and is under 35, who is a high achiever and displays excellence in their field, is a great team member, a strong promoter of indie beer and has a collaborative nature.

Those efforts may include:

  • Showing leadership and potential as a future industry-wide leader.
  • Encouraging a unified approach to issues affecting the industry.
  • Bettering the industry with ideas and knowledge sharing.
  • Driving consumer education and awareness in a manner that enhances the market for Australian independent brewers.

TRUE INDIE SUPPORTER   

Awarded to a retailer, publican or bar operator that strongly supports Indie Beer through representation of Australian independent beer across their business and marketing, as well as in advocacy and promotion.

Those efforts may include:

  • Showing inspiration and enthusiasm for independent beer.
  • Dedicating a significant proportion of range to Australian independent beer.
  • Working with the wider industry to promote Australian independent beer.
  • Driving consumer education and awareness of our industry in a positive manner.
